Personal Experience & Biography
Since receiving his undergraduate degree from Western Washington University and his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from National University in Redding, California, Darren has gone on to have an expansive and eclectic career in the field of Psychology and Counseling. He has worked in couples counseling, school based services, intensive treatment for children, performance psychology, and forensic psychology among many more.
Darren finds himself fortunate to have a career that has allowed him to be actively involved in public speaking, conducting seminars and trainings, including retreats designed for couples, parenting and men’s work. He also finds himself having a heart-felt passion to support and help guide a variety of first responders and military personnel in preserving their personal relationships, which are affected the most by the work that they do.
Currently, Darren is excited to work with adults and couples by providing “an atmosphere where willingness to tolerate suffering in order to grow is collaborative and, at times, confrontational with honesty and authenticity.” Through his use of evidence based therapies such as CBT and Exposure therapy, and other engaging types such as Jungian, Positive Psychology and Solution Focused therapies, Darren has a variety of ways to support his clients in their journey to healing and betterment.
