Personal Experience & Biography

My ultimate goal in practice is to provide you or your child with a thorough, comprehensive psychological assessment that will allow you to fully understand you or your child’s unique learning and emotional needs.  I do not perform “drive thru” evaluations and seek at all costs to make an accurate and well-supported diagnosis that can help you or your child receive the proper school accommodations, academic interventions, or psychological services to become your best self.  During my assessments, I begin with a careful review of presenting symptoms and difficulties as well as personal history in order to understand all the factors that may be contributing to specified struggles.  I will then select a comprehensive battery of heavily researched, data-driven psychological tests that will allow us to examine how you or your child are performing academically, intellectually, neurocognitively, socially, or emotionally compared to your same-age peers.  From here, I will create a well-reasoned, thorough report on findings that will answer your questions, explain results in a manner that is easy to understand, and moves beyond a diagnosis into the day-to-day impacts of any condition.  Most importantly, I will provide you with a long list of recommendations that will meet you or your child’s learning or emotional needs moving forward.  My hope is that you will leave our individual feedback session with a much clearer grasp of you or your child’s unique needs and how you can overcome any obstacles.

Dr. Haezebrouck received his PsyD in clinical psychology from the University of Denver where he specialized in psychodiagnostic assessment.  He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Arkansas State Hospital and proceeded to work for Missouri’s Department of Mental Health where he provided competency restoration services to individuals suffering from severe and persistent psychiatric and neurocognitive disorders.  From these experiences, he has training in evidence-based psychotherapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Dr. Haezebrouck additionally completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he provided evaluation services to children in order to clarify why they were struggling with school or parental and peer relationships.  He continued to conduct assessments for several years and has considerable experience determining whether children suffer from learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and psychiatric and impulse-control problems.  More importantly, he became familiar with providing parents and teachers with recommendations to help them guide children to reach their academic potential.
